Sansepolcro
Miloš Doležal, Jiří Štourač
Ever since the time of J.W. Goethe artists travelled to Italy to draw new insights not only from the beauty of nature and architecture, but also to breathe the air suffused with the thousand-year old culture. For many Czech poets, from Vrchlický to Hora, this country became a source of immense inspiration and an antipode to French influences. In the years 1997-2004 Italy was visited by the poet Miloš Doležal (1970) and the painter Jiří Šťourač (1960). They were inspired mainly by the work of Pier della Francesca and his native land around the Tuscan town of Sansepolcro. This book is a result of their travels.
