Beyond the Horizon of Objectivity (Czech edition)
Karel Honzík, Dita Dvořáková
Karel Honzík (1900–1966) is one of the most prominent 20th century architects. He was a notable theorist of functionalist architecture, urbanist, interior designer, educator, and writer, who emphasised humanistic values of architecture and its relations to complex psychological aspects of life. He witnessed the rise of a distinctive Czech avant-garde movement - Poetism. Together with Josef Havlíček, he designed the Palace of the Pension Savings Bank in the Prague district Žižkov, presumably the most significant functionalist building before World War II. The anthology Beyond the Horizon of Objectivity presents the retrospective of Honzík’s theoretical works supplemented with many images, opening interpretation study and indispensable inventories and registers.
The book is published in both Czech and English editions.
